21a Memorial Day Championships at SSP
SSP This Saturday
USAC Wingless Sprints Preview at Next Wednesday Test & Tune on May 29
Newberrytown, PA (May 24, 2013) – This Saturday night, May 26, will
feature Inaugural 21a Memorial Day Championships in remembrance of the
late Mike Zeigler Sr. at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. Racing action
will feature 21-lap feature races for the Late Models, Street Stocks and
the Xtreme Stock Cars. The Zeigler family will be presenting special
plaques to the winners of the three classes. Also racing will be the
Road Warriors, Mini Vans and Classic Cars.

USAC Wingless
Sprint Car Preview:
The Next Wednesday Night Test & Tune is on May 29
The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session will be
held on Wednesday, May 22 at the Susquehanna
Speedway Park. This will be a special USAC wingless
preview day as any wingless sprint car will receive
a free car entry for the test & tune. The USAC
wingless Sprints will visit SSP on Sunday, June 9.
It is open to any type of racecars capable of
competing on the 4/10 mile oval. The cost is $12.00
per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each
racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car &
driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m.
with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by
class. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per
session. The grandstands are open free to the
public. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of
6/8 laps each or more if time permits. The fuel
pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will not be open.
Anyone needing fuel should contact Miller’s Racing
Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The main concession
stand will be open throughout the night. Due to
the completion of only half the Wednesday Night Test
& Tune on April 24, all pit passes and car entries
from the April 24 Test & Tune may be used for half
credit ($6.00 towards pit passes and $10 towards car
entry) for any Test & Tune session through October
23, 2013. Pit passes from April 24 must be
presented for credit.

Eastern Storm Visits SSP on Sunday, June 9
Newberrytown, PA (January 11, 2013) – After more
than 20 years, full-size wingless Sprint Cars will
compete at the Newberrytown oval on Sunday, June 9
as the final race of the USAC Eastern Storm Tour.
The ARDC Midgets will also be on the racing card.
This highly anticipated event will spark the
interest of all race fans both young and old. The
pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates
will open at 4:00 p.m. Warm-ups begin at 5:30 p.m.
with qualifying at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation
races and feature events. This will be the
first-ever USAC-sanctioned event at the SSP.

Track
Rental for the “Big Track” and the “Outback Track”
The “Big track” and the “Outback track” are
available for rent beginning March 1, 2013. The
“Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and
may be split between a maximum of five-(5)
drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the
track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it
is an additional $75.00 per hour. For nighttime
rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00
per hour will be charged for lights. There will
be a $200.00 discount if the Big Track is reserved
before February 15, 2013 for any date after March
1. A $200.00 deposit is also required to receive
the discount.
The
rental price for the “Outback Track” is $400.00 for
4 hours during the day /$500.00 at night and may be
split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams.

Free Pit Passes for
all Non-Qualifiers in 2013
Any non-qualifier who starts the a qualifying heat
race and fails to qualify for the feature in the
Late Model, Street Stock, Xtreme Stock Cars, Legends
Cars, Mini Vans and Road Warriors divisions during
the regular season point events will receive a
complimentary pit pass for the driver for the
following week during the regular season from April
6 though September 14. The driver must possess a
full annual SSP license in order to be eligible for
the complimentary pit pass and pass is not
transferable to another driver or to another week
beyond the following week. |

Repeat Fan Discount
Continues for 2013
The popular “Repeat Fan Discount” program will
continue at SSP in 2013. There is a $2.00 repeat fan
discount for each person with a ticket stub from
races during the previous week’s events completed
only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their
name, address and phone number on the back of the
stub to be entered into special drawings during and
at the end of the season for great prizes. The
Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass
purchases. |
