Newberrytown, PA (October 19, 2013) Ė Mike Walls of Hanover
took the checkers in the Street Stock main event to earn
$2,000 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night.
The Street Stock feature was one of four divisions featured
at the 10th Annual Millerís Racing Parts Fall
Classic presented in part with Insinger Performance Fuels.
Doverís Chad Stine took the lead from the start and never
looked back to win the Xtreme Stock Car 40 lapper. Kevin
Thomas of St. Johns won the 30-lap Four Cylinder Stock Car
feature. On Friday night, Matt Wallace from Mt. Airy, MD
won the exciting Classic Cars 20 lap feature event.
The 50-lap Street Stock feature event began with Fridayís
Cash Dash Winner Mike Kiehl bringing the field to the
green. Dan Zechman led the first circuit from an outside
front row starting position. Zechman led the field until
lap 12 when Mike Walls moved into the top spot. Rain forced
a halt to the racing action on lap 16. When racing resumed
two hours later, Walls continued to pace the field with
Kiehl and Zechman in tow. With 6 laps remaining, Zechman
tangled with a lapped car, forcing him to retire from the
race. On the restart, Walls was too strong for Kiehl to
overtake and continued to hold onto the top spot. At the
finish, Walls took the win over Kiehl. Jeff Haag ran in the
top five the entire race and finished third at the end.
Eric McClane finished strong in fourth AS Dustin Hollinger
finished in fifth. Fridayís heat race wins went to Jim Palm
Jr., Chris Derr and Kiehl.
The 40-lap Xtreme Stock Car
race had Chad Stine lead from start to finish to win claim
the checkers at the finish. Although Stine wired the field
from start to finish, the battle behind him was close and
exciting behind him. At the end, Chad Stine took home the
second place finish over Michael Goodwin who started 15th
and took the Madison House Hard Charger award. Tim Hahn
finished strong in third, followed by Patrick McClane and
Dan Snyder in fourth and fifth respectively. Friday night
heat race wins went to Craig Wagaman and Stine. Wagaman
also won the 6-lap cash dash.
In the 30-lap Four Cylinder
Stock Car feature event, Kevin Thomas took the lead from an
outside front row starting position. A wild scramble ensued
behind Thomas for the runner-up spot with Dennis Christ,
Ronnie Buck, Eric Hollenbach and Leroy Long. Midway through
the race, Ronnie Buck secured the second place spot and set
his sights on Thomas. At the end, Buck was within three car
lengths of the leader at the end as Thomas took the victory
over Buck. Eric Hollenbach settled for third with Randy
Jones finishing fourth. Jerry Hoagland rounded out the top
five. Heat race wins went to Hollenbach and Thomas.
On Friday night, the 20-lap
Classic Car feature event began with Steve Cantwell grabbing
the early lead over Matt Wallace. On lap 11 of 20, Wallace
took the top spot but was unable to shake Cantwell. At the
end, Cantwell finished in the runner-up spot less than a car
length from the winner, Matt Wallace. Pete Neal finished
third as Neal Reamer came across the line in fourth.
