With rain forcing the
cancelation of the Test & Tune on Wednesday, April 24,
the next Test & Tune will now be Friday night, April
26. The open practice session is open to all classes of
karts, quarter midgets, lawnmowers and Adult Speedcars.
On the Friday, April 26, the gates will open at 5:30
p.m., with practice from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The
cost is $20.00 per driver (anyone who practices on the
track) and no charge for anyone else entering the pit
area for the open practice sessions.
The first race of the
Spring Shoot-Out Series will now be Friday night, May
10. The pit gates will open 5:45 p.m. with a driver’s
meeting at 7:20 p.m. Open practice begins at 7:00 p.m.
and racing action begins at 7:30 p.m. There will be no
sanctioning body affiliation for either karts or quarter
midgets, but the technical/specification rules will be
very similar to the major sanctioning groups for these
types of cars (W.K.A. and QMA/USAC). The entry fees for
each class will be $20.00 per entry for drivers with the
seasonal (Spring/Summer) license. Pit pass fees for the
driver are included in the entry fee. Non-license
driver’s entry fees will be $25.00. Participants may
enter more than one class on a raceday ($12.00 for each
additional class). Trophies will be awarded to the top
three in each class regardless of class entry count. No
participants will be denied racing as SSP will make
every effort to define a class for all drivers who wish
to compete.
Pit pass prices (the same
since 2008) for non-drivers at the Outback Track will be
$8.00 for everyone ages 18 & older; Teens & Children
ages 11 – 17 are $5.00; Children 10 years of age and
under are $3.00. Ages 2 & under are admitted free.
The
Next Wednesday Night Test & Tune is on May 8
The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session will be held on
Wednesday, May 8 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. It is
open to any type of racecars capable of competing on the
4/10 mile oval. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit
passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit
area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open
at 5:00 p.m.
with open track time from
6:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. by class. Each session will be 6 – 8
laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the
public. Each class will receive
4 to 5 rounds of 6/8 laps each or more if time
permits. The fuel pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will
not be open. Anyone needing fuel should contact Miller’s
Racing Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The main
concession stand will be open throughout the night.
Due to the completion of only half the Wednesday Night Test
& Tune on April 24, all
pit passes and car entries from the April 24 Test & Tune may
be used for half credit ($6.00 towards pit passes and $10
towards car entry) for any Test & Tune session through
October 23, 2013. Pit passes from April 24 must be
presented for credit.
Also on Wednesday night, there will an open practice session
for quarter midgets and karts at the Outback Track from 6:30
p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

9:00 p.m. The cost will be $20.00 per driver
with no charge for anyone else entering the grandstand and
“cold pit” areas. All Outback Track participants should
enter the pits from the
Kise Mill Road entrance behind
turn 2 of the “Big Track.”
- Track Rental for the “Big Track” and the “Outback
Track”
– The “Big track” and the “Outback track” are available for
rent beginning March 1, 2013. The “Big Track” rental fee is
$1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of
five-(5) drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the
track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an
additional $75.00 per hour. For nighttime rentals at the
“Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged
for lights.
The rental price for the “Outback Track” is $400.00 for 4
hours during the day /$500.00 at night and may be split
between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. To reserve

- Free Pit Passes for all Non-Qualifiers in 2013
– Any non-qualifier who starts the a qualifying heat race
and fails to qualify for the feature in the Late Model,
Street Stock, Xtreme Stock Cars, Legends Cars, Mini Vans and
Road Warriors divisions during the regular season point
events will receive a complimentary pit pass for the driver
for the following week during the regular season from April
6 though September 14. The driver must possess a full
annual SSP license in order to be eligible for the
complimentary pit pass and pass is not transferable to
another driver or to another week beyond the following
week.
- Repeat Fan Discount Continues for 2013 – The
popular “Repeat Fan Discount” program will continue at SSP
in 2013. There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each
person with a ticket stub from races during the previous
week’s events completed only. Returning
fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone
number on the back of the stub to be entered into special
drawings during and at the end of the season for great
prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit
pass purchases.
